At Adelaide Plastic Surgery, we are very pleased to welcome interstate clients who have chosen us as their preferred plastic surgery practice. With this number continuing to rise, we have put together some useful information that may be of assistance if you are considering travelling for your surgery.
First things first, we never encourage people to be driven by price for any type of surgery; however, we understand that cost is a contributing factor for some. Our mission is to provide excellence in service and patient care, with the reassurance of seeing a highly qualified and experienced plastic surgeon, without an over inflated price tag.
Our previous clients have told us how surprisingly easy and affordable travelling for surgery can be, and we’ve listed some of their reasons below;
- Our surgeons offer Telehealth consultations via Skype as an alternative option for patients who have to commute, in order to minimise the amount of back and forth travel time prior to surgery and in the privacy of your own home. In some instances, certain procedures may need to be complemented by a physical examination along with pre-operational photography and a garment fitting (if required). However, there are options for this to be undertaken subsequently or even, possibly, on the day of surgery. We’ll certainly let you know what your next steps are during the Telehealth consultation.
- We are pleased to be located within Adelaide’s renowned Bio-medical Precinct, across the road from the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. Our practice is only a 15-minute drive from the airport, and conveniently resides within a modern, purpose-built facility, with a fully accredited Day Surgery as well as a private Radiology practice.
- If you require accommodation after your procedure, you can find a very reasonably priced hotel just two doors down from our facility, or various others just a short walk down North Terrace, keeping you close for your initial post-operative care. As part of our service, we also offer 6 weeks of complimentary post-operative visits to ensure you are well cared for during your recovery process.
On a final note, if you are considering travelling and having your surgery done overseas, please do your homework and ensure you are in safe hands. We strongly recommend you check you will be seeing a fully qualified plastic surgeon, and are operated on in a fully accredited medical facility. Your health and safety should be your number one priority, as it is ours. In Australia, you will know if your surgeon is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon by their credentials, such as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
We look forward to seeing you at Adelaide Plastic Surgery. To book a consultation with one of our 8 Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, or to find out more about our Skype Consultations simply call (08) 8213 1800. Its that easy!
