Before you go spending hundreds of dollars on ‘miracle creams’ and high-end cosmetics, wouldn’t you love to put down the concealer brush and fix the problem at the source?
In this day and age, you would be surprised to know the range of Laser Therapy Treatments available designed to fix or minimise those troublesome skin conditions you thought you were stuck with for life.
At Adelaide Plastic Surgery, we’ve made a significant investment in a vast array of lasers, with which we can repair and improve your skin. It is important to recognise there is no “one stop shop” when it comes to lasers, and each are designed to treat specific conditions. With the largest range of lasers in Australasia (all in the one place) the staff at Adelaide Plastic Surgery are not restricted by the limitations of one specific laser.
So, what does this mean for you?
Our nurses and doctors will assess your skin conditions and concerns and tailor a treatment plan specific to you and your needs. We can rejuvenate your skin, improve scars and pigmentation, rid you of vascular lesions such as port-wine stains and rosacea, and the list goes on. The best news is, a lot of these treatments are non-invasive and most require little to no downtime at all!
Currently we have two vascular lasers. These are the Cub (Copper Bromide) and the Excel V. Our Excel V treats a large variety of vascular skin conditions, such as Rosacea, telangiectasia (broken capillaries), venous lakes (most often on the lips, which is a collection of blood vessels that looks like a little red puddle or a deep bruise), birthmarks (port wine stains), red scars and Poikiloderma (red/brown discolouration caused by sun damage on the neck and chest). There is also a setting (Excel V Genesis) for Skin Rejuvenation, which is used to target other skin issues such as enlarged pores and improving skin texture.
Cub is used to treat broken capillaries on the face and Campbell de Morgan spots (they look like little red freckles).
Enlighten PicoSecond is one of the most advanced laser systems for effective and safe removal of tattoos and benign pigmented lesions. It can treat any flat brown pigmented
spots, freckles, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and some birthmarks. This laser can also be used in combination with the Excel V Genesis) for our Skin Rejuvenation packages.
It is also highly effective in tattoo removal, due to extremely high powered and short PicoSecond laser pulses. A ‘picosecond’ is one trillionth of a second, and is 1000 times shorter than the ‘nanosecond’ pulses used in existing lasers for tattoo removal. This PicoSecond technology has been shown to remove tattoos more completely and effectively, and is able to quickly breakdown the ink particles in tattoos.
Erbium & Ultrapulse
These lasers are for doctors use only and they require a varied amount of downtime. The Erbium laser is used for ablation/removal of lesions and can also be used for resurfacing.
The Ultrapulse is also used for laser resurfacing and for improving the appearance of scars.
